We aim to reply within one business day, Monday to Friday. That's a target rather than a promise, so check the answers below first: they may save you the wait.
Before you write
- An invoice's number looks wrong. Each invoice gets its number the first time it's issued and keeps it every time it's printed again; numbers are never reused or skipped. The first number on the Settings page only counts until the first invoice is issued. After a reinstall, numbering carries on from the highest number on your orders.
- A document was left out of a printout. Once this month's 50 free documents are used up, new documents are left out and named at the top of the printout, while documents already issued still print. The Plans page lifts the limit.
- Customers can't see Download invoice. On the order status page and the Thank-you page, the Download invoice block shows once you add it in the checkout and accounts editor; the action on every order in customer accounts shows once you turn it on in Settings. Either way, it covers the orders you chose there: paid orders only, unless you chose all orders. Customers who open their order from an email are asked to sign in first. Uninstalling Inkslip takes its blocks off those pages, so after a reinstall, add them again.
- Phone numbers are left off. Shopify has to approve Inkslip to read customers' phone numbers; until it does, documents are printed without them, and the printout says so.
- A long document's table header shows only on its first page. Safari doesn't repeat a table's header on each printed page, and can split an item's lines across a page break. Chrome repeats the header on every page and keeps each item together.
Reporting a problem with a document
So we can trace exactly what happened, please include:
- Your store's myshopify.com address.
- The order numbers involved, for example #1042, or the draft order's number for a quote.
- Which document, and where you printed it: an order's page, the order list, the date range, a draft order, or a customer's download.
- What you expected, and what printed instead. A screenshot helps; cover customers' details first.
Order numbers are enough for us to look a document up. Please don't send customers' names, addresses or payment details; we don't need them.
